Program Description

In July of 2014, Morningside expanded services geographically to include our Pierce County office. Over the course of a few years, we’ve grown our program considerably. We have a goal of reaching out to multiple School Districts to introduce our services, meeting teachers, parents and students. We serve clients in both the inner city & rural areas, helping them to find and keep their jobs. On average, 30 plus individuals participate in Community Based Assessments and are placed in employment annually. Additionally we serve over 35 persons in employment services through the Developmental Disabilities Administration supporting these individuals on their job at various businesses and agencies throughout Pierce County . We look forward to continued momentum in Pierce County and the opportunity to serve more individuals in employment services with a focus on  Transition and School-to-Work!

Program Description

The Community Protection Program is a voluntary program in Pierce County and throughout the state intended to provide a structured, therapeutic environment for persons with community protection issues. This program allows the participants to live safely and successfully in the community without re-offending while minimizing the risk to public safety.  These individuals have offended or have exhibited behaviors with the possibility of offending.  Individuals in this program are monitored 24 hours a day to participate successfully in their community.  Employment is part of their rehabilitation, and Morningside’s Creative Employment Program is designed to help rehabilitate this group.  The program is guided by a Treatment Team responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the person’s individualized supports and services.  The team consists of a client, their case resource manager, therapist, residential provider, employment program provider, and the person’s legal representative and/or family.  The team sets the goals for the Treatment Plan written and guided by a qualified professional therapist.  In July of 2014, Morningside expanded service geographically to include our Pierce County office. Over the course of one year, we’ve grown our program considerably and serve 39 individuals. We have a goal of reaching out to unserved clients.  We look forward to continued momentum in Pierce County and the opportunity to serve more individuals!
